Intuit is seeking a “Manager 2” for "QuickBooks - Product Development team (Mid Market Group)". We are a start-up within Intuit with the strategy to be an “AI-driven expert platform”. This is about being an open, trusted and easy-to-build-on platform where we and others partners solve the most pressing customer problems and deliver awesome experiences. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise, business acumen, and a passion for creating delightful customer experiences. They will lead cross-functional teams, influence executives and engineers, and drive technical product direction


Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality customer-driven software offerings to market that simplify and solve for current customer needs while building for the future.
  • Should possess strong technical skills, have a career history of strong hands-on software engineering and development experience, and the tactical and visionary leadership skills to motivate, guide, and earn the respect from a highly talented engineering team.
  • Responsible for initiating and driving the adoption of technology, product and process improvements throughout the software delivery life cycle.
  • Provide technical leadership, career development, and management of performance, objectives, and priorities of all reporting staff - Build a high performing, results-oriented organization.
  • Drive and own the functional and non-functional requirements road map for your organization.
  • Develop product expertise and advocate on behalf of the customer.
  • Drive initiatives to improve testing at all levels & deliver automation to ensure robustness and protect our customer.
  • Embrace & implement new ideas that produce outstanding results for our customers.
  • Drive adoption of best practices, tools, systems and metrics across the organization.
  • Lead and grow a high performing engineering team to deliver data capabilities at scale with engineering and operational excellence built in.
  • Create an environment where world class engineers can do the best work of their lives. In this role you will help to bring out the best ideas from the best engineers by empowering them and leading by example.
  • Instill and drive software engineering standards and best practices with the team to maximize engineering excellence and developer productivity.
  • Employ strong business and technical acumen to guide the team (customer obsession, strategic thinking, asking the right questions, sweating the details).
  • Create shared vision, build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  • Partner with Product Management to understand requirements, prioritize tasks, and incorporate new features into existing products.
  • Responsible for service high availability, incident management and conducting post mortem to learn from incidents.
  • Build a culture of Innovation, technical and operational excellence on the team.
  • Develop business cases for developing new capabilities and conduct resource estimation to justify spend for new capabilities

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, experience in leading multiple initiatives is strongly desired.
  • 4+ years experience as an established technical leader of software engineering teams that have successfully delivered impactful business solutions.
  • Hands on engineering leader who can nurture working with highly motivated and extremely talented engineers to work on high visibility online products.
  • Comfortable working on all tiers of modern applications, from the front-end all the way to the database and strong exposure to Enterprise Java platform, Spring Framework, ReactJS, Amazon Web Services, Kafka, Kubernetes based container deployments, Databases (Aurora PostgreSQL), Splunk, Wavefront, RESTful APIs, GraphQL and CI/CD.
  • Solid software development fundamentals (Data Structures, algorithms, problem solving, OO Design, and system architecture) with specialization on end to end software development using modern SaaS / public cloud deployments with a DevOps mindset
  • Demonstrated experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams.
  • Ability to think and act strategically for all stakeholders. Adept at articulating the product vision and driving the future roadmap with strong business acumen.
  • Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track in a distributed global engineering ecosystem.
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience.
  • Someone with strong belief in agile and lean thinking have a passion for developer velocity, engineering and operational excellence
  • Strong business acumen. Understands the business internal and external landscape and thinks/acts strategically for all stakeholders.
  • Drives strategic technology/engine reuse, technology and architecture health, and development process improvement.
  • Expert communicator and love working with multiple stakeholders for common outcomes with high stakes at company level.
