Group Design Manager, Experience Craft & Expression - QuickBooks Platform
Company Overview
Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.
Job Overview
At Intuit, we’re on a mission to power prosperity for small businesses through design that’s both intelligent and human. The QuickBooks Platform team is seeking a Design Manager to lead a small, high-craft group focused on raising the quality bar across our core product experiences - ensuring every interaction, transition, and visual detail feels purposeful, polished, and unmistakably Intuit.
You’ll lead a cross-disciplinary team of Interaction Designer, Visual Designer, and Motion Designers, each focused on elevating how QuickBooks looks, feels, and moves. Together, you’ll bring craft, clarity, and expressive design to the product experiences that millions of customers rely on every day.
This role complements our Experience Architecture team, who are shaping the 12–18+ month design vision for the platform. Where they imagine what’s next, your team ensures that what ships today embodies that vision- with quality, cohesion, and emotional impact.
This role is about defining what great looks like, building the systems and examples that make it scalable, and inspiring teams across QuickBooks to hit that bar consistently.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Elevate the craft and cohesion of our most visible product experiences- ensuring they feel intuitive, expressive, and distinctly Intuit.
Define and uphold design quality standards across visual, motion, and interaction design- setting the example through your team’s hands-on work.
Lead a small, expert team (IxD, Visual, Motion) to create high-impact, high-quality product moments that model best-in-class design.
Collaborate deeply with Experience Architecture to translate forward-looking design principles into tangible, customer-facing experiences.
Partner with Design Tech to scale expressive systems - from motion frameworks to AI-integrated design patterns.
Integrate AI thoughtfully into product design - helping define how assistive and generative intelligence shows up in ways that feel natural, helpful, and human.
Foster a culture of craft through critique, creative direction, and hands-on coaching, ensuring that quality is a shared outcome across teams.
Why This Role Matters
As QuickBooks evolves with AI and new platform capabilities, maintaining a cohesive, emotionally intelligent experience is more important than ever. This role ensures that our design principles don’t just live in strategy decks - they live in the product, in the details, and in the everyday moments that build customer trust.
Qualifications
Who You Are
A hands-on design leader who cares deeply about fit, finish, and expressive quality.
Fluent across brand, interaction, visual, and motion design, with a keen sense for how they combine to create emotional resonance.
Excited by the opportunity to shape how AI feels in product experiences - not just what it does.
Skilled at balancing ambition and pragmatism - you raise the bar without slowing the pace of progress.
A coach, not a critic - you believe the best way to elevate quality is to model it, systematize it, and empower others to achieve it.
