Job Overview

This role is within the Controllership, Assurance & Operations organization. The position is located in Bangalore, India. The position is primarily responsible for overseeing the accounting and operational management of prepaid SaaS contracts, telecom expenses, other assets, and escheatment activities. This includes various month-end duties such as preparing journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, etc.


Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have the ability to collaborate and lead across multiple functions and roles to achieve accounting objectives. If and when issues are identified, the leader will use their strong change management skills and to drive issues through to resolution and subsequent validation with the full transparency of involved stakeholders at all levels within the larger Intuit organization

  • Review and interpret SaaS contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
  • Manage accruals and amortization for prepaid SaaS contracts, including ongoing monitoring and reconciliation of balances.
  • Oversee accounting and expense management for telecom services, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper classification.
  • Own accounting for other assets and escheatment activities, including compliance, tracking, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain journal entries, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and quarter-end close.
  • Maintain account reconciliations, perform variance analysis, and assess risks related to assigned accounts.
  • Partner closely with business, finance, procurement, etc.on accounting matters and contract-related inquiries.
  • Prepare and maintain management reports and supporting schedules, including those requested by internal and external auditors.
  • Support SOX compliance, process improvements, and strengthening of internal controls within areas of responsibility.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation, and efficiency within prepaid, asset, and escheatment workflows.

Qualifications

·4+ years of relevant accounting experience, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

·Strong ability to interpret contracts and translate technical accounting conclusions for non-accounting stakeholders.

·Experience with SaaS or software-related accounting strongly preferred.

·Public accounting or experience at a large public company is highly desirable.

·Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-business-unit environment.

·Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.

·Working knowledge of Oracle and BlackLine is a plus.

Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and multitasking skills, strong written and oral communication skills and influencing skills, including the ability to raise issues appropriately to the right level internally and externally to resolve

Chartered Accountant/CPA with minimum of 4 years experience preferred.
