Company Overview

Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

At Intuit, the QuickBooks Online Accountant team enables our accountant customers to run and grow their practices, while serving their small-business and mid-market clients. We will disrupt the accounting software market by transforming Intuit Accountant Suite to a best in class, done-for-you suite of tools used by accounting professionals and firms of all sizes. Delivering a sophisticated product that customers love is critical to our success.

We're looking for a Senior Staff Product Designer to help shape the future for how Accounting firms serve their clients on an AI native platform.
This is a pivotal role where you will not just design, but lead the articulation and advancement of Intuit's overarching design vision and strategy. You will be a strategic connector and catalyst, translating design-led initiatives into actionable efforts that redefine how Accounting firms succeed and grow their practice and provide services to their clients.

Responsibilities

  • Apply strategic thinking to design and deliver innovative solutions that optimize among user needs, business goals, and technological realities across web and mobile platforms
  • Balance long term vision with continuously shipping, iterating, and evolving the design system
  • Turn visions into concepts, and translate concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity, despite complexity of the system
  • Have a strong design rationale backed by accounting industry best practices, customer data, and behavioral insights
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to explore new ideas and quickly test them to make data-driven decisions
  • Facilitate workshops across cross-functional partners to drive and influence the roadmap of new products and features
  • Coaching and mentoring junior and senior designers on the team in craft and development of key skills

Qualifications

  • Design Acumen - The Craft of Impact: You are a recognized design thought partner and role model, leading larger design projects within a strategic pillar. You don't just apply design principles; you incept, pioneer, and evangelize craft standards across business units and Intuit communities to elevate the craft of design and design-driven innovation. You are a systems thinker, a prototyper, a storyteller, and a craftsperson who cares deeply about quality and collaboration, turning ambiguity into clarity.

  • Data Fluency & Technical Acumen - Designing with Intelligence: You actively lead conversations on connecting data-driven customer experiences across the platform. You exhibit mastery in leveraging data to forecast trends and shape global design strategies, synthesizing data to craft visionary design solutions that anticipate future market needs and drive innovation. You understand that design isn't just how something looks—it's how it works, how it feels, and how it scales.

  • Business Acumen - Strategic Vision, Real-World Impact: You possess a deep understanding of business strategy, envisioning solutions that balance short-term and long-term business goals. You lead your organization in choosing, defining, and solving customer and business problems, inspiring creativity and innovation while clearing paths for your designers to innovate accordingly. You are adept at gaining buy-in and cooperation from stakeholders, making informed, timely decisions based on accurate assessments.

  • Leadership & Influence - Guiding the Future: You will plan and drive the overall input goals and planning efforts of your teams, significantly contributing to the planning efforts of the function. You will influence your team and others outside the function, collaborating with senior leaders of other functions to achieve key long-term goals. You communicate complex concepts to executive leadership and audiences outside the organization, making recommendations and influencing strategic direction.

  • Experience & Expertise:

    • 8+ years of experience in product design, with a compelling portfolio showcasing your leadership and impact in a complex domain.

    • A track record of independently driving design processes from discovery through launch — balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.

    • Fluency in interaction design and prototyping, to express and refine nuanced design decisions.

    • The ability to guide decision-making with structured thinking, clearly articulated rationale, and user-centered research.

    • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate thought processes to stakeholders.
