Job Overview
The QuickBooks Product Growth team is leading a company-level strategic bet on Freemium as a new engine for customer growth and long-term monetization. As a Senior Staff Product Manager, Acquisition & Monetization (Product Growth), you will lead a significant portion of the Freemium initiative, owning key acquisition, engagement, and free-to-paid conversion experiences that help scale a large base of active customers and monetize them over time.
This role sits at the intersection of product, marketing, data, and engineering. You will lead a dedicated cross-functional pod and partner closely with other Product Managers working on Freemium, as well as with leaders across the organization, to execute against a bold, growth-first strategy. This is a high-visibility role focused on driving meaningful impact within a broader company-level effort, with the opportunity to shape how QuickBooks grows its customer base over the next several years.
Responsibilities
Lead Key Freemium Growth and Monetization Initiatives
Lead strategy and execution for a core set of Freemium acquisition, engagement, and free-to-paid conversion experiences within QuickBooks.
Balance bold customer acquisition with disciplined learning, working in partnership with other Freemium PMs to support long-term monetization.
Translate company-level growth objectives into clear product bets, priorities, and tradeoffs across your owned surfaces and flows.
Drive Acquisition, Engagement, and Monetization
Partner closely with Marketing to design and optimize Freemium acquisition paths across channels (web, paid media, partnerships, cross-sell).
Build engagement experiences that turn signups into active, retained users.
Own and optimize Free → Paid monetization experiences, including paywalls, upgrade flows, and services monetization (e.g., payments).
Lead Cross-Functional Execution
Guide a dedicated pod of engineers, product designers, and data scientists to deliver high-impact product work.
Work across organizational boundaries to influence teams without direct authority, unblock dependencies, and drive progress.
Align stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Engineering, Data Science, and Commercial leadership around a shared plan.
Operate with Data and Learning at the Core
Partner deeply with Data Science and Analytics to define success metrics, evaluate tradeoffs, and guide decisions.
Use experimentation and cohort analysis to understand user behavior, engagement, and monetization over time.
Focus not just on short-term wins, but on building durable growth systems and repeatable playbooks.
Be a Growth Leader
Serve as a thought leader for Freemium and product-led growth within QuickBooks and across Intuit.
Help shape how the Product Growth function scales by setting standards for rigor, velocity, and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
Experience & Impact
8+ years of product management experience, ideally in growth, platform, or consumer/SMB products.
Proven track record owning complex product initiatives that span acquisition, engagement, and monetization.
Experience operating in ambiguity and driving large, cross-functional efforts forward.
Strong understanding of marketing concepts, acquisition channels, and go-to-market strategy.
Leadership & Influence
Ability to lead through influence rather than authority in a matrixed organization.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to align senior stakeholders and navigate complex organizational dynamics.
Bias for action, paired with sound judgment and strategic thinking.
Customer & Business Acumen
Deep customer empathy, particularly for SMBs and early-stage businesses.
Strong intuition for how product decisions translate into business outcomes over time.
Comfort making tradeoffs that balance short-term metrics with long-term value creation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with freemium, marketplace, or product-led growth models.
Background in financial technology, B2B software, or SMB-focused products.
Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, lifecycle marketing, and personalization.
