Company Overview

Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

Small businesses fuel the economy, employing 60% of the workforce, yet half fail within five years—primarily due to cash flow challenges. At QuickBooks, we are building the operating system that increases the survival rate of entrepreneurship. As a Staff Product Designer on the Payments team, you will solve one of the top problems businesses face: getting paid. You will design high-impact experiences that help millions of small and mid-market businesses manage their financial destiny and thrive.

The payments landscape is dynamic, highly regulated, and deeply complex. We are looking for a Staff designer who thrives in the "messy middle"—someone who can navigate the nuances across small and mid-market business workflows delivering a scalable experience for the end-users. The customer journey starts with the business creating the invoice and end with their customer paying it, and we have to consider every step along this journey. This role requires dynamic individual with strong interaction design skills, cross-functional experience, and expertise in data-driven design to shape the Payments experience for millions of businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design efforts for complex products
  • Providing design leadership within a team by collaborating with product managers, analysts, researchers, writers, and engineering partners to create outstanding customer experiences
  • Deliver multiple projects simultaneously through robust communication and time management skills
  • Participate in and analyze extensive customer research to identify insights that will ultimately provide customer value and delight
  • Leverage iterative prototyping to quickly test concepts and learn from customers
  • Drive design decisions through data by partnering with our analytics team
  • Participate in and promote a culture of detailed feedback rooted in first principles, design rationale, customer data, and industry best practices
  • Effectively present and communicate your designs and rationale to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management
  • Provide mentorship to junior designers from a craft, and cross-discipline partnership perspective

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product design experience with strong visual and interaction skills, including significant experience in mobile app design
  • Expert knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with customers, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research, with a proven track record in mobile product development
  • Deep knowledge of user experience methods, innovation, ideation, storytelling, prototyping, design frameworks, concept visualization, problem-framing skills and design principles
  • Proven track record in setting a vision for great customer experiences, inspiring others to get behind the vision, and ultimately delivering products and services that are known for their delightful experience and ease of use
  • Exemplary ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams/groups/functions through facilitative leadership to deliver great results and to "raise the bar" continually as an effective leader of positive change
  • Organized, self-directed, efficient and able to manage multiple and complex projects in a timely manner
  • A passion for creating products that resonate on an emotional level
  • Strong online portfolio available for viewing
