Job Overview
Be the design champion on TurboTax’s core DIY product, and create end-to-end experiences for millions of consumers. In this role, you will be helping craft the design strategy and execution of the next evolution of tax prep through innovation and design craft to help our customers grow and thrive. You’ll work across functions, teams, and business units to create intuitive and scalable platform experiences.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
- Support end-to-end design initiatives: Actively participate in the design process for the TurboTax DIY product, from initial concept exploration through to implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with Design, Development, Product Management, Data, Service, and Marketing teams to understand problems and contribute to holistic solutions.
- Contribute to project delivery: Assist in managing aspects of multiple projects simultaneously through effective communication, time management, and prioritization.
- Participate in customer research: Engage in customer research activities to help identify insights that will inform design decisions and provide customer value.
- Assist in iterative prototyping: Support the creation and testing of prototypes to quickly validate concepts and learn from customer feedback.
- Learn to drive design decisions through data: Work with the analytics team to understand how data informs design choices.
- Embrace design best practices: Participate in feedback sessions, learning about design rationale, customer data, and industry best practices.
- Understand product impact: Learn about the upstream and downstream impacts of new product releases, building an understanding of information architecture.
- Practice communicating designs: Develop skills in presenting and articulating design concepts and rationale to various stakeholders.
- Contribute to service blueprints: Assist in creating and iterating on service blueprints to help ensure a great customer experience.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring & Learn:
- Emerging Portfolio: A developing portfolio showcasing your interest in visual design and UX principles, including any academic or personal projects.
- Eagerness to Learn: A strong desire to learn about the end-to-end product design process, from initial concepts to implementation.
- Collaborative Spirit: An ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams (including Product Managers, Engineers, and Content Designers).
- Foundational Understanding: A basic understanding of user research methodologies (both how to conduct and how to interpret findings).
- Prototyping Curiosity: Interest in developing prototyping skills to test and iterate on designs.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to articulate design ideas and participate in discussions.
- Adaptability: Eagerness to learn how to navigate stakeholder feedback and contribute to team alignment.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: A curiosity for understanding user problems and contributing to practical solutions.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Actively enrolled in a post-secondary education program.
- A graduation date at least 4 months after the co-op term ends.
- Available for a 12 month co-op work term for 40 hours per week
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the co-op term, without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to work in our Toronto office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing fair pay for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender. The expected base pay range for this position is:
Toronto/GTA: $36-$46/hr
