Job Overview

Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Intuit Global Corporate Affairs and Public Policy (GCAPP) serves as the voice of Intuit customers with policymakers. As part of the Legal, Compliance, and Policy Organization (LCPO), GCAPP leads Intuit’s engagement on public policy and regulatory issues that affect the business, its customers, and the broader financial technology industry. Our work spans a range of policy areas, including financial services, artificial intelligence, privacy and data protection, cybersecurity, payments, taxpayer empowerment, bank partnerships, and small and mid-market business growth.

GCAPP offers internships across two distinct focus areas: Public Policy and Public Affairs. The focus area of this opportunity is Public Policy.

Our internships provide hands-on exposure to in-house corporate public policy operations. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals and gain practical insight into how public policy priorities inform business decision-making in a fast-paced, global technology company.

Responsibilities

The focus area of this internship is Public Policy. Reporting directly to a manager of GCAPP’s U.S. Federal team in Washington, DC, you will support GCAPP’s public policy priorities and be assigned duties and tasks that may include:

  • Conduct research and analysis on legislation on key public policy areas and its impacts to Intuit.
  • Draft and create content, such as memos, summaries, and briefing materials, on emerging public policy trends and emerging issues.
  • Support government relations and advocacy efforts.
  • Attend legislative hearings, meetings, public events, and other engagement with third-party partners, trade associations, and consultants.
  • Support and participate on key priorities and special initiatives.

Qualifications

Applicants currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program will be strongly preferred. In addition, strong applicants will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and identify key takeaways.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, to pay close attention to detail, and to manage multiple tasks while delivering a high standard of work quality.
  • Expressed interest in public policy, especially fintech, AI, and other tech policy areas.
  • Moderate to advanced proficiency with technology (AI, SaaS apps, etc.).
  • Work experience from the technology industry or public office.
  • This internship will be located in Washington, D.C.

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. This position may be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits).
