Job Overview
Lead Sanctions Product Advisory & Monitoring is a critical "second line of defense" role. You will be the primary liaison between the Sanctions Compliance function and the Business/Product teams. Your mission is to ensure that new financial products and global partnerships are launched with robust, scalable sanctions controls, while maintaining a rigorous testing environment to ensure existing controls remain effective.
Responsibilities
Product & Partnership Advisory
New Offering Onboarding: Lead sanctions compliance requirements buildout for all new products, services, and geographic expansions. Define mandatory "Sanctions Guardrails" for engineering and product teams.
Bank Partnership Requests: Act as the lead for sanctions due diligence requests with prospective banking and fintech partners
Control Design & Monitoring
Control Testing: Design and execute a periodic testing roadmap for sanctions screening systems
Technology & Scaling: Build out automated AI driven monitoring controls to change "how" we monitor sanctions control effectiveness
Screening Decommissioning: Strategically oversee the retirement of legacy business lines and controls.
Governance & Program Management
ECB Program Management: Manage the Embargo Country Blocking(ECB) reporting cycle, providing senior leadership with data-driven insights into the sanctions risk landscape.
Audit & Exam Response: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for sanctions controls during internal audits and external regulatory examinations. Document control effectiveness and key contributor to outlining the needs of remediation of any identified findings.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 7+ years in Sanctions Compliance, Financial Crime, or Risk Management within Banking or Fintech.
Sanctions Knowledge: Deep understanding of US, CA, UK, and EU sanctions regulations. Experience with screening technology (e.g., Accuity, Bridger, FICO, or proprietary ML models).
Problem Solving: Ability to navigate the "gray areas" of sanctions to provide commercially viable yet compliant solutions.
Communication: Proven ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear "user stories" for product managers and engineers.
- Sanctions Certification such as ACAMS or other relevant certification.

Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing fair pay for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender. The expected base pay range for this position is:
San Diego: $142,000-$192,500
