Company Overview

Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Staff Data Scientist to join our Strategy Data Science team. This role is designed for a strategic, business-oriented data scientist who thrives at the intersection of data, business strategy, and cross-functional collaboration. You will partner with leaders across Product Marketing, Channel Marketing, Finance, Data Engineering, and other Data Science teams to translate evolving business strategies into impactful, data-driven initiatives.

Your work will bridge the gap between raw data and high-level business application, ensuring insights not only answer immediate questions but also guide long-term strategic direction. You will apply deep product analytics, advanced analytical methods, modeling, and scenario planning to inform critical decisions and shape the future of Intuit’s growth.

You’ll thrive here if you are equally comfortable diving deep into data, navigating ambiguity, and influencing high-level strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Set analytical direction to influence strategic roadmaps across QuickBooks customer growth initiatives by partnering with senior leaders in Product Marketing, Channel Marketing, Finance, Data Engineering, and Data Science to translate evolving business priorities into durable, data-informed strategies and decision frameworks.

  • Own and lead the most complex and ambiguous problem spaces, defining success metrics, analytical approaches, and learning agendas where the path forward is unclear and standard methodologies are insufficient.

  • Invent and scale novel analytical frameworks and methodologies that synthesize experimentation, causal inference, research, product analytics, and financial modeling to uncover long-term customer growth opportunities.

  • Build and apply durable customer segmentation frameworks to improve product targeting, positioning, and customer experience.

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to executive and senior leadership, influencing roadmaps, investment decisions, and tradeoffs through clear articulation of insights, risks, limitations, and strategic implications.

  • Multiply impact through mentorship and standards-setting, raising the bar for analytical rigor and strategic storytelling across the data science and analytics community.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in data science, strategy, or qualitative research roles. Experience in consulting or a strategy-focused capacity is a plus.

  • Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, GitHub, and Databricks. Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Qlik Sense) is a plus.

  • Strong track record of hypothesis generation and translating insights into data-driven execution with measurable impact on strategic roadmaps. Experience building models, analyzing experimentation, applying research, and using financial modeling to iterate on learning plans.

  • Strong understanding of A/B testing and causal inference principles, with the ability to guide teams on interpretation, limitations, and strategic implications.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence executives and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and connect data to strategic clarity.
