Intuit
Fintech Finance Transformation Lead
Company Overview
Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.
Job Overview
We are looking for a powerhouse Individual Contributor to serve as the bridge between complex financial contracts and scalable engineering solutions. The US Fintech landscape is under constant innovation making this an exciting role as it sits at the intersection of traditional controllership and modern Fintech innovation (NextGen platforms of existing businesses to Crypto to NeoBanking).
You will own the entire lifecycle of accounting integration—from the first time a contract is signed to the final entry in the general ledger. This isn't just about "doing the books." It’s about building the engine that automates the books. As a Staff Project Accountant, you will take the lead on complex end-to-end projects—translating contract literature and technical docs into robust T-accounting logic, then partnering with Product Development (PD) to build, test, and launch the systems that power our global scale.
What You’ll Do
Project Architecture & Execution
Requirement Design: Drive the identification of scope, T-accounting requirements, and solutioning for new Fintech initiatives.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Direct your program and squad toward strategic goals, managing dependencies across PD, Legal, and Ops.
Technical Research: Research and document company positions on technical accounting issues, presenting conclusions to business partners in clear, actionable terms.
Quality Assurance: Lead use-case testing and UAT to ensure the build matches the accounting intent perfectly.
Operational Excellence (Run the Business)
Financial Integrity: Gather and prepare journal entries for a broad range of accounting areas, ensuring compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.
Risk Assessment: Apply expert judgment to ensure the integrity of accruals, reconciliations, and the overall control environment.
Audit Partnership: Work directly with external auditors to support financial statement audits and control testing.
Continuous Evolution: Constantly look for ways to automate manual "run the business" tasks to accelerate our scaling.
Responsibilities
Technical Translation: Review complex legal contracts and technical docs to determine accounting impacts (Revenue Recognition, Lease Accounting, etc.) and design the corresponding T-Accounting flows.
Requirements Architecture: Translate GAAP conclusions into clear, actionable technical requirements for Product and Engineering teams.
End-to-End Orchestration: Drive the "Solution-to-Launch" lifecycle. You aren't just a stakeholder; you are the pilot for solutioning, build phases, UAT, and the critical hypercare period post-launch.
Influence & Leadership: While an individual contributor role, you will "manage through influence," directing the work of partner teams and mentoring junior staff on the intersection of finance and technology.
Systemic Problem Solving: Identify gaps in our current financial architecture and propose automated, scalable fixes that reduce manual intervention
