Job Overview
Join our Consumer Group organization as a Senior Engineering Manager and drive the future of TurboTax. We are looking for a leader to spearhead one of the most critical teams in our ecosystem, responsible for evolving the platform that is the engine for content and calculations within the TurboTax experience. This role is pivotal in shaping our platform innovation strategy, enabling developer productivity, and ensuring flawless collaboration across multiple Tax teams. Your impact will directly affect delivery of tax experiences and create AI-powered solutions that redefine platform development.
Responsibilities
Develop and refine our tax engine technology platform’s core integration patterns.
Define and evolve tax runtime platform architecture that accelerate content delivery and underlying engine changes.
Define the engineering roadmap to enable rapid delivery for our tax content
Ensure innovations are production-ready and drive measurable business impact.
Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and ownership.
Prioritize professional development and empower engineers to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Ensure robust operational frameworks to deliver highly available, scalable, and secure platform solutions.
Collaborate with product management, designers, and tax leaders to translate ambitious visions into actionable plans.
Influence cross-functional partners to align behind technical and strategic goals.
Qualifications
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
10+ years in software engineering, including 1+ years leading high-performing, impactful engineering teams.
Good understanding of AWS technology, hosting patterns, and Java/C++ tech stacks
Passionate about AI-first approaches with demonstrated experience in implementing AI and machine learning solutions that improve developer velocity.
Strong expertise in designing scalable and extensible platforms.
Strategic mindset combining business acumen with technical innovation, navigating technical complexities to deliver modular, multifaceted solutions.
Proven ability to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity.
Track record for mentoring technical talent and scaling engineering organizations.
Dedicated to building customer-first solutions through end-to-end journey mapping and driving value for end-users in every engagement.
Confident communicator skilled in managing up, influencing cross-functional stakeholders, and serving as the technical face of Consumer Group innovations internally and externally.
