Job Overview
The Virtual Expert Platform (VEP) team is at the heart of connecting our customers with expert guidance across all our products—QuickBooks, TurboTax, Mailchimp, and Credit Karma. We also provide the technology that powers Intuit’s Sales, Partner and Customer Success capabilities to drive sales and customer satisfaction of all of our products. We own the entire technology stack, from user interfaces and expert management systems to workforce operations, digital expertise and conversation capabilities, data infrastructure, and platform services. We collaborate closely with product, design, marketing, and operations to create seamless experiences for both users and customers.
We are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to lead the technological evolution of the Enterprise Mid-Market Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform for Sales to serve our Mid-Market and Enterprise business customers. This includes a strong understanding of the Salesforce (SFDC) platform, coupled with experience building for enterprise Sales and designing a robust technology stack that integrates best of breed tools along with first party innovation. You will be a key leader and work closely with Product Management and partner with Sales teams to build a best in class experience for our Sellers powered by AI and HI (Human Intelligence).
Responsibilities
Gathering functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning
Design, develop, and deploy scalable and high-performance solutions on the Salesforce platform using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura Components, Visualforce, and Salesforce APIs.
Develop robust integrations between Salesforce and external systems, leveraging AWS services (e.g., Lambda, SQS, S3) for efficient data flow and processing, using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and other integration patterns.
Apply the latest in AI technologies (i.e., Agentforce, Claude, OpenAI) to seamlessly integrate Human Intelligence (HI) to solve business problems.
Contribute significantly to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, technical design, coding (approximately 80-95% hands-on), testing, and deployment.
Demonstrate tech leadership: Mentoring junior engineers, new team members, and applying technical expertise to challenging programming and design problems
Ability to navigate Intuit towards Ecosystems and Platform to be steward in visioning short-and long-term strategy, trade-offs across business and technology. Own the current and future state and drive delivery through clear and bite size steps. Support execution teams with complex development and operational challenges through hands-on technical leadership via code design and contributions
Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams: product management, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results
Contribute to the design and architecture of the project. Hands-on coding

Qualifications
10+ years’ experience architecting and designing SAAS offerings, leading design for web, software, or mobile applications. Hands on (50% time spent on coding/code reviews)
B. Tech/M. Tech in computer science or equivalent work experience.
Hands-on development experience on the Salesforce platform, specifically with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and/or Aura Components.
Proficiency with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and experience with at least one of the following languages: Java, C#, Python, or similar.
Proven experience with web services (REST and/or SOAP APIs) for system integrations.
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and experience with at least one core service (e.g., Lambda, S3, SQS, EC2, DynamoDB) for building scalable and integrated solutions.
Understanding of data engineering concepts, including data modeling, ETL processes, and working with structured/unstructured data.
Exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) concepts and an understanding of how they can be applied to enhance business processes or insights.
Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum).
Experience with unit testing and a strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering against assigned tasks in complex environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A self-starter attitude with the ability to take ownership of problems and drive solutions independently.
Excellent communication and presentation skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
