Company Overview

At Intuit, we help over 100 million people and businesses around the world feel more confident about their money. We are the proud makers of TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp. Our mission is to power prosperity around the world. We do this by staying customer-obsessed and using data and AI to solve the biggest financial challenges for our customers.

The Role

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Sanctions Compliance to lead our Global Sanctions program. You will be responsible for the oversight, strategic design, implementation, and scaling of a world-class sanctions framework that protects our customers and our platform. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will partner with Product, Engineering, and Legal teams to integrate compliance into the heart of our ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Drive the long-term vision for Intuit’s Sanctions Compliance program, ensuring it matures alongside our expanding global footprint and evolving product suite.

  • Program Governance: Administer and monitor day-to-day compliance with OFAC and international sanctions laws. Ensure our policies and internal controls meet the highest regulatory standards and partner expectations.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key advisor to Legal, Product, and Operations. You will work with product teams to build compliant-by-design customer experiences.

  • Systems & Automation: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to manage and enhance automated sanctions screening systems. You will ensure screening parameters and fuzzy-matching logic to identify risk while minimizing customer friction.

  • Regulatory Liaison: Lead the response for state/federal examinations and internal/external audits. You will be the primary point of contact for sanctions-related inquiries and the corrective action of any findings.

  • Risk Assessments: Conduct comprehensive Sanctions Risk Assessments, considering new products, geographies, and emerging geopolitical risks.

  • Board-Level Reporting: Maintain and update sanctions policies, seeking approval from the relevant Boards and Executive Leadership as necessary. Present the overall sanctions program health to various subsidiary boards.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience as a Sanctions Compliance leader in Financial Services or FinTech.

  • Domain Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of OFAC regulations, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and international sanctions regimes (e.g., UK HMT, EU, UN).

  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and managing in a fast-paced environment.

  • Technical Savvy: Experience working with automated monitoring software and a deep understanding of how data science/AI can be applied to sanctions screening.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into "plain English" for non-compliance stakeholders and executive leadership.

  • Mindset: A "self-starter" who thrives in ambiguity and is passionate about Intuit’s mission to power prosperity.
