Within this mission, the Capabilities Data Science team partners closely with QuickBooks Capital to deliver data-driven insights, scalable machine learning solutions, and emerging AI capabilities that improve lending experiences and outcomes.

  • Analyze internal and partner data to uncover trends and inform product, marketing, and lending decisions

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Design to influence roadmap and execution

  • Communicate complex analyses clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

AI & Automation Enablement

  • Develop agents, servers, MCPs, and orchestration frameworks to automate workflows and scale impact across the Data Science organization

  • Serve as a go-to expert for onboarding and adoption of AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Figma Make, GenOS, Blobbot), removing friction and enabling productivity

  • Create playbooks, establish best practices, and identify high-impact AI use cases aligned with business needs

  • Coach team members on applying LLMs to data challenges such as data matching, cleansing, and instrumentation design

ML & Data Governance

  • Establish best practices for ML lifecycle management, including batch models and emerging LLM-based systems

  • Support the team’s transition from traditional ML approaches to effective use of generative AI

  • Advise on data security, governance, and fine-grained access controls

  • Promote scalable, reusable analytics and modeling frameworks to improve efficiency across teams

Qualifications

  • 4–8 years of experience in data science or analytics, ideally in fintech (lending, credit cards, or marketplaces)

  • Strong foundation in experimentation, predictive modeling, and data-driven decision-making

  • Experience working with large datasets and building scalable analytics or ML solutions

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive business impact

  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex findings into clear recommendations

  • BS or MS in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Econometrics, or a related field
