Principal Product Manager, AI-Native Construction & Field Services
Company Overview
Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.
Job Overview
Construction contractors operate on 2-5% margins where a single missed lien deadline or mismanaged estimate can erase an entire job's profit. Yet they're stuck between generic small business software not built for job-cost accounting and overbuilt enterprise platforms requiring dedicated admins. The result: project managers spending 40% of their week manually moving data between systems that should be automated.
As Principal PM, you'll build Intuit's AI-native "Field-to-Finance" operating system for Construction and Field Services — where agents autonomously execute billing, AP, compliance, and cash flow workflows across the job lifecycle. You'll give mid-market contractors the administrative leverage of a firm ten times their size. You'll work cross-functionally with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, product managers, researchers, and designers to ship agentic experiences that achieve product-market fit for construction and field service professionals.
Responsibilities
Agentic AR & Mobile Billing: Own the roadmap for AI agents that autonomously initiate Milestone Billing and AIA-style Progress Invoices from field task completions — defining when agents auto-draft vs. escalate to human review
Autonomous AP Automation: Build agentic AP workflows where agents capture receipts, auto-code vendor invoices to Project Dimensions using historical job cost patterns, and trigger approval chains — compressing payment cycles from weeks to hours
Real-Time Cash Flow Intelligence: Deliver an AI-powered "Burn vs. Budget" engine that instantly reconciles mobile-captured labor and material costs against estimates, and proactively surfaces cash flow risk before PMs are aware of the problem
Construction Financial Controls: Implement agentic workflows for Retainage tracking, Pay-When-Paid subcontractor logic, and Lien Waiver management — where compliance agents route the right document to the right person at the right time without manual tracking
Embedded Fintech: Drive AI-triggered adoption of instant subcontractor payments and project-based financing — surfaced proactively when agents detect cash flow gaps between billing cycles
Roadmap Ownership: Build and own a rolling 12-month roadmap that sequences which agents to ship, how deep to go in construction workflows, and how to evolve Intuit from "the accounting software contractors use" to "the AI system they run their business on"
Qualifications
10+ years in Product Management with expertise in Project Accounting, Fintech, or AR/AP Automation — ideally at a construction or field service SaaS company (Procore, Autodesk, Buildertrend, ServiceTitan, Doxel, Sage Construction, or similar)
Agentic AI experience: You've shipped LLM or agent-powered products in production and can write agentic specs — agent objectives, tool definitions, confidence thresholds, escalation logic — not just traditional PRDs
Construction workflow depth: You know the full job lifecycle — estimating, job costing, progress billing, change orders, lien management, certified payroll. You know what an AIA G702 is without Googling it
Vertical financial fluency: Deep knowledge of Project P&L, burdened labor rates, Revenue Recognition (ASC 606), Retainage, and WIP accounting — and the ability to speak credibly to a construction CFO and an AI engineer on the same day
Mobile-first field experience: Proven track record building system-of-record mobile apps where field data accuracy drives financial compliance, including for skeptical, low-connectivity field users
API & integration fluency: Ability to design financial data flows between third-party construction apps (Procore, Fieldwire, ServiceTitan) and Intuit's core ledger to ensure a single source of truth agents can reliably reason over
