Principal Marketing Operations Manager

Category Marketing Location Atlanta, Georgia; San Diego, California Job ID 22159

Company Overview

Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

We are looking for a deeply experienced Principal Marketing Operations Manager to join our Global Business Solutions Group (GBSG) Marketing Operations team. As the most senior individual contributor on the team, you will set the technical and operational direction for how we design, execute, and scale high-impact marketing campaigns across our portfolio. Leveraging 12+ years of marketing operations experience and a highly specialized, expert-level skillset, you will operate as a force multiplier — solving the most ambiguous, cross-domain problems, defining the standards others build against, and shaping the multi-year roadmap for our marketing operations capabilities. Your judgment, technical depth, and partnership-oriented leadership will be central to driving customer-centric outcomes at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical vision and multi-year roadmap for marketing operations within your domain, identifying capability gaps and championing the platforms, processes, and architectural changes required to unlock the next horizon of growth.
  • Lead the design and execution of the most complex, high-stakes, multi-channel campaigns and journey orchestration initiatives — including those that span business units, regions, or require novel technical approaches that have not been previously solved on the team.
  • Act as the team's deepest subject-matter expert across our martech stack (Oracle Eloqua, Adobe AEP/Marketo, IXP/IPD, Movable Ink, and adjacent platforms), serving as the escalation point for the most difficult technical and architectural decisions.
  • Partner with Lifecycle Marketing, Analytics, Data Operations, Engineering, and GTM Tech leadership to define joint strategy, negotiate roadmaps, and ensure marketing operations is positioned as a strategic capability rather than a downstream execution function.
  • Define and evolve the operating standards, frameworks, and best practices used by the broader Marketing Operations org — including campaign architecture patterns, experimentation methodology, QA frameworks, governance models, and documentation standards.
  • Drive measurable improvements in campaign performance through advanced experimentation, segmentation, personalization, and journey optimization strategies, and codify what works into repeatable patterns the team can scale.
  • Lead the evaluation, design, and adoption of AI-driven and automation-driven solutions that materially change the velocity, accuracy, and sophistication of our marketing execution.
  • Mentor Staff, Senior, and Associate marketing operations practitioners — raising the technical bar across the team through code/configuration review, design reviews, and structured knowledge-sharing.
  • Represent Marketing Operations in executive-level forums, translating complex technical considerations into clear business tradeoffs and influencing decisions across senior leadership.
  • Champion data governance, deliverability, privacy, and compliance as foundational requirements, ensuring our operations meet the highest standards of customer trust at scale.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12+ years of marketing operations or campaign operations experience, with deep expertise executing complex multi-channel marketing campaigns in B2B and/or B2C environments at enterprise scale.
  • Demonstrated track record of operating as the most senior technical authority on a marketing operations team — owning architecture-level decisions, setting standards, and influencing strategy beyond your immediate scope.
  • Highly specialized, expert-level mastery of enterprise marketing automation and orchestration platforms, with hands-on depth in Oracle Eloqua and Adobe (AEP/Marketo) required. Experience architecting solutions on these platforms, not just executing within them, is essential.
  • Proven expertise designing end-to-end campaign and journey architectures that integrate audience segmentation, real-time personalization, model-driven decisioning, and cross-channel orchestration.
  • Deep fluency with operational data pipelines, identity resolution, audience activation, and the data architecture that underpins modern lifecycle marketing — including the ability to partner credibly with data engineering and analytics on technical design.
  • Advanced working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and templating systems used in email and landing page development, including dynamic content, modular template systems, and accessibility best practices.
  • Demonstrated history of leading complex experimentation programs (A/B, multivariate, holdout, incrementality) and translating results into durable performance gains.
  • Expert command of channel best practices, deliverability, and global data protection and privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, CASL, CAN-SPAM), with a track record of operationalizing compliance at scale.
  • Proven ability to evaluate, pilot, and operationalize AI-driven and automation-driven solutions — including generative AI, agentic workflows, and ML-powered orchestration — to materially shift team velocity and capability.
  • Exceptional analytical and data-driven judgment, with the ability to define the measurement frameworks others rely on.
  • Demonstrated success mentoring and uplifting other senior practitioners; recognized as a go-to technical leader by peers and partners.
  • Outstanding cross-functional influence and communication skills, with a proven ability to align senior stakeholders across marketing, engineering, product, and analytics around a shared technical direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive amid ambiguity, lead through change, and make confident decisions with incomplete information.
  • Embodies a growth mindset and a builder's bias — constantly raising the bar for self, the team, and the craft.
  • Passionate about solving the hardest problems in marketing operations through innovative, technology-driven, customer-obsessed solutions.
