Banking Specialist

In a nutshell

As the Banking Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and secure execution of our international banking operations. This role goes beyond day-to-day transactional support – you will be a trusted right hand to the Banking Manager, helping to maintain control, accuracy, and compliance across multiple markets and banking platforms.

Working at the heart of our finance operations, you will manage access rights, reconciliations, payment workflows, and support the development of procedures that align with group policies. You will be deeply involved in projects like banking automation, new market onboarding, and process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce risk.

Collaboration is essential in this role – you’ll work closely with internal stakeholders across countries and departments, including Finance, Controlling, Compliance, and IT. Your reliability, attention to detail, and ownership mindset will make you an essential partner in driving operational excellence and ensuring we keep our financial systems robust, agile, and future-ready.

Your daily tasks:

  • Manage and monitor banking rights, user access, and approval structures across all platforms to ensure compliance with the group’s internal control framework and enforce the 4-eye principle, safeguarding against operational risk and fraud.
  • Support the Banking Manager in executing daily banking operations (e.g. statement downloads, cash positioning, payment runs, and reconciliation coordination) to enable timely and accurate cash management across multiple international markets.
  • Collaborate with local Finance teams and Group Treasury to coordinate facility drawdowns, FX transactions, intercompany funding activities, hedging activities, ensuring group liquidity is optimally managed and markets are appropriately funded.
  • Responsible of accounting adjustments resulting from cash reconciliations;
  • Lead or support cross-functional banking projects and process improvements (e.g. automation initiatives, onboarding of new banks or markets, or system migrations) to drive efficiency, scalability, and consistency across regions.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on cash flows, banking costs, and facility usage to provide the Finance leadership with accurate data for forecasting, cost control, and strategic decision-making.
  • Act as a first line of support for banking-related inquiries from Finance, Controlling, Compliance, and BI teams, to resolve issues efficiently and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Ensure all banking operations follow internal policies, procedures, and audit requirements, contributing to a strong control environment and successful audit outcomes.
  • Proactively identify areas for risk reduction or control enhancement

So, what skills, knowledge and experience do you have?

Skills

  • Fluency in Polish and English (written and spoken) is essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced level – including pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas)
  • Ability to interpret and implement internal procedures and controls
  • Skilled in identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed, international structure

Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles related to cash, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries · Working knowledge of internal controls and risk mitigation
  • Awareness of FX transactions, intercompany funding flows, and liquidity management principles
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and audit expectations related to banking access and payments
  • General knowledge of the IFRS accounting and finance principles is a plus

Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Banking, Treasury or Accounting Operations role
  • Proven track record of managing or supporting banking rights, payments, and daily cash activities
  • Experience supporting or coordinating banking process improvements, system changes, or market onboarding
  • Experience with corporate online banking platforms and managing user access/rights
  • Experience working with multinational teams and/or across different time zone

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or a related field
  • Additional certification in Finance or Treasury is a plus

  • High attention to detail, accountability, and strong ownership mindset
  • Flexible and adaptable – able to handle ad-hoc tasks and urgent requests in a dynamic environment
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented approach – comfortable taking initiative and anticipating needs
  • Occasional international travel may be required
