What's the role?
As a Security Engineer, you will play a meaningful role in securing MYOB's products in every stage of the SDLC. In this role, you will collaborate with developers and engineers, product managers, and members of multi-functional teams to drive the implementation of innovative security practices in line with industry standards.
You’ll work collaboratively to find ways of identifying and preventing security vulnerabilities, integrate tools to help deliver our products securely into the market and maintain that security while running in real-time, as well as highlight risks and defects that may cause a threat to our products overall.

You'll constantly be thinking about our customers and users, and bring security to the forefront of our development and operational processes.
What our day-to-day looks like
Every day is different for our Security Engineering team! One day you will be scripting for one of our security tools, the next you could be educating our developers in secure coding practices. You may be asked to facilitate and guide threat models, analyse logs in our SIEM platform, or provide security advice to product teams. We love people with creative minds who look for new and innovative ways to secure our platform.
In particular, the successful candidate will be able to start fast by supporting the rollout of our new SIEM platform. You would be setting up various configurations on SIEM and converting security threat use cases to detections.
We work with AWS, GitHub and Buildkite. We always question why and are not afraid to experiment with ideas. We love to integrate and automate and get stuck into reading code, so the successful person will need to have a solid understanding of at least one programming language and common design principles/patterns. At MYOB, we have a diverse language stack ranging from .NET to Golang.
