By joining the Tech team, you’ll be an integral part of building our all-in-one business management platform.
The role
We're looking for a Principal Developer who can use their knowledge and experience of good Observability practices to help us define and drive a strategy for better Reliability and Observability across MYOB.
- Lead, mentor and enable the team to define, refine and incrementally move toward a technical vision whilst delivering great experiences to our internal teams.
- Lead collaboration with technical and non-technical leaders to deliver and evolve the vision.
- Support breaking problems into small initiatives to deliver value to customers incrementally whilst taking steps toward the vision.
- Engage with our development teams to help them use our Observability platform to craft reliable software that they can own through the entire Software Delivery Lifecycle. We run a "you build it, you run it" DevOps approach across the business.
What you'll bring
- Technical leadership that nurtures and motivates sustained technical excellence, and can coach and mentor others.
- Technical proficiency that's central to your ability to efficiently deliver well-designed, high-quality and robust solutions. In particular, Observability technologies; some knowledge of Go and/or Python would help.
- Communication of ideas, processes, concepts and practices clearly to diverse groups.
- A growth mentality and the dedication to continuously improve personal and team processes, practices and performance.
- Pragmatism to balance short-term delivery needs with longer-term strategic direction and objectives, using fast feedback and evolutionary design to maintain efficient delivery.
- An understanding of current engineering techniques such as DevSecOps, continuous deployment and progressive delivery on cloud-native solutions.
