By joining the Tech team, you’ll be an integral part of building our all-in-one business management platform.
The role and what are we looking for?
As the Principal Architect across our three product lines of business, you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to drive the development of products and systems that are used by hundreds of thousands of MYOB customers every day.
You will guide the technology and architecture vision and roadmap for our world-class products, communicating that vision and guiding teams to prioritise and implement incremental change. You will manage and mentor a team of Architects who work across embedded with product teams, while giving Senior Product and Tech leadership and business partners a voice, bringing the two worlds together to build exciting high-quality outcomes for our customers and our business.
What will you be doing!
In joining the team at MYOB you will be leading the way, working across delivery teams and be a driving force of the technical architecture, design and quality standards. You'll define technical strategies and roadmaps, design solutions and lead initiatives to drive strategic outcomes for MYOB’s customers.
You will also contribute to crafting an outstanding team culture by role modelling a collaborative approach to working with team members, offering leadership, support, mentoring and guidance, to Architects, Engineering Managers, Principal Engineers and other technology leaders.

Some of the things you'll do...
You'll find opportunities to optimise architecture standards and practices across MYOB,
Collaborate across product teams to uplift practices, coding standards and tooling
You'll contribute to Agile ceremonies whilst remaining agile in your approach to software product development practices and methodologies.
What experience we'd love you to bring!
- Extensive experience as an Architecture and Engineering leader working in a scaled-up team environment, with a background in agile delivery
- Well-developed people leadership skills. Previous experience mentoring and coaching staff.
- Superb communication skills to a wide range of audiences technical and non-technical.
- Commercial savvy to advocate for technology initiatives linked to business and commercial outcomes.
- Extensive experience bringing simplicity to sophisticated systems and making them easier to modify, expand and scale as well as cheaper to run. You can guide others on how to do this.
- Comprehensive experience with, and a passion for implementing good engineering practices including TDD, Continuous Delivery, deployment automation, observability, good modular design, and clean code.
- Extensive experience in business and systems analysis, architecture and design with techniques including DDD, event storming, workshop facilitation, brainstorming, use case modelling, data modelling, business process modelling, functional decomposition etc.
- Passion for solving business problems with technology.
- Experience in data-driven decision making.
