The Manager of General Accounting for NBS assists the Director of Accounting with internal financial and management reporting and oversees the supervision of the General Accounting Team. In addition to managing all general ledger entries and balance sheet accounts, this position is responsible for tracking and projecting revenue, assisting with the preparation and analysis of financial statements, as well as working with Project Management staff on project efforts. The Manager of General Accounting is also responsible for compliance related to internal controls over financial reporting.- Manage segment financial reporting including cash flows and closing the books.
- Assist with development and preparation of internal financial and management reporting.
- Work with all NBS divisions to create and report NBS Metrics monthly and quarterly.
- Post revenue, cash, prepaid, accrual, and other journal entries to the General Ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts at month end.
- Analyze existing operational reports and provide continuous process improvement ideas to improve content, quality, and presentation
- Research and complete accounting analysis for investment or acquisition activities, as well as other accounting research
- Assist with monthly preparation and analysis of financial statements.
- Track and record deferred revenue and project revenue based on schedules maintained.
- Participate with Project Management staff in project efforts and act as liaison between the Accounting Team and Technology/Product Department for reporting needs.
- Manage expectations through consistent and timely project updates.
- Assist with monitoring and implementing new accounting guidance as determined applicable to the Company.
- Supervise and encourage growth for associates.
- Assist in the Company’s annual budget and forecast process (including monitoring actual vs. budget variance throughout the year).
- Monitor industry changes and maintain knowledge of latest trends and best practices. - Coordinate the Company’s compliance related to internal controls over financial reporting (and the provisions of COSO).
Salary Range - $80,000 - $100,000
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field (advance degree preferred).
- CPA preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years accounting and/or financial statement audit experience or related financial statement analysis experience.
- Experience with identifying, analyzing, documenting, and monitoring internal controls over financial reporting and GAAP research.
- Experience with bank payments and credit card processing preferred.
- 4+ years of management/leadership experience desired.
- International accounting experience preferred.

- Knowledge of internal controls as they relate to financial reporting.
- Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
- Ability to independently research the proper accounting treatment for significant and/or unusual transactions.
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with various divisions and levels of management throughout the company
- High standards for productivity with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Utilization of effective organization and prioritization skills to complete assignments within established time frames.
- Exceptional organization skills.
- Initiative to troubleshoot problems independently, examine existing processes, identify and analyze situations, and generate alternative solutions or suggestions on how to do things better.
- Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of accountability, confidentiality, ethics, and integrity and to share information with resources appropriately; ability to manage and supervise team members.
