About the role
In this newly created role and reporting to the Head of Developer Platform you will own and lead Release Engineering as a capability across Netwealth’s IT department, ensuring the release process is as optimal as can be.
With a team of two DevOps engineers, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases across multiple teams and platforms to ensure smooth and predictable software releases.
This role focuses on processes and people. You will collaborate with developers and operations teams to understand and streamline release processes and implement automated build, testing, security, and deployment processes using industry-standard DevOps tooling.
Our expectation is for you to step into this role, truly make it your own, and bring solutions to life. Your expertise, ability to think outside the box, and ideas will be valued. We’re excited to see your strategic vision and solution-orientated approaches shape the future of our practice.
About you
With strong people, process, and delivery skills, you bring to this role your expertise in release management to drive the quality, performance, and functionality of software products.
You know what good release management looks like. You’ve assessed and understood current-state environments and have built and clearly articulated the vision for the future state, setting milestones for delivery and executing those.
Whilst this isn’t a hands-on technical role (or document creator role), you need to be comfortable working with technical teams and have robust discussions around DevOps tooling.
Ideally, you’ve come from an environment where you’ve been part of scale, growth, and stability, coordinating and enabling across many people and teams. You’ll be comfortable with ambiguity, and a self-starter with initiative and a problem-solving mindset.
Technically, you’ll bring to the role.
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and processes, such as Agile, Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD, etc
- Proficient in using release management tools, such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Octopus, GitHub, etc
