The Opportunity

Our Operational Governance division safeguards adviser fee governance across Netwealth’s platform. We’re seeking a Distribution Governance Analyst to strengthen monitoring and controls across a large adviser network.

This role has been created in response to elevated regulatory expectations and a broader uplift in governance. You’ll help implement enhanced controls, deliver data‑driven monitoring, and support remediation and reporting activities, bringing independence, objectivity, and clear insight to decision‑makers.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitor advice fees and consent/ongoing service arrangements, reconciling fees charged vs entitlements; identify anomalies and exceptions.

  • Execute risk‑based sampling/testing, maintain high‑quality MI/reporting, and support issues/incidents management.

  • Lead exception handling and remediation, quantify impacts, recommend fixes, and track to closure within SLAs.

  • Build and maintain dashboards (e.g., Power BI) and support change/UAT for fee‑impacting system/process updates.

  • Collaborate with Distribution, Product, Adviser/Licensee Support, Risk & Compliance, and IT while preserving monitoring independence.

About You

Play a key role in strengthening adviser oversight and governance standards, while contributing to fraud investigations and misconduct reviews in a high-impact, data-driven role. Your experience and skills will include:

  • 3–5+ years in compliance, risk/governance, audit/assurance, paraplanning or advice within wealth/platform or licensee environments is essential.

  • Strong understanding of financial advice strategies and behaviour; able to spot abnormal activity and emerging risks.

  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills (BI desirable); confident reconciling complex fee/consent data and producing clear insights.

  • Diplomatic communicator with solid stakeholder skills; balances independence with constructive relationships.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (commerce/finance/law/risk) or industry credentials such as RG146/Kaplan/Financial Planning Diploma are advantageous.

All locations feature contemporary facilities to make your day comfortable, and in Melbourne, you’ll also enjoy perks like end-of-trip amenities and daily breakfast to make your commute easier.

We offer benefits designed for your wellbeing and personal development, including;

  • Family-friendly support: Paid parental leave and a fully funded school holiday program

  • Wellness perks: CU Health (virtual healthcare), income protection, flu shots, wellness weeks, retail discounts and financial wellbeing services
