The Opportunity
Great AI starts with great data. At Netwealth, our data underpins everything we do, from powering our platforms to enabling better client experiences and supporting smarter decisions.
This is a pivotal leadership role. For the first time, we’re bringing our Data and AI capabilities together to set clear direction, strengthen delivery, and enable responsible AI adoption across the organisation.
As General Manager, Data & AI, you’ll be accountable for Data & AI outcomes, working in close partnership across platforms, engineering, governance and an AI Centre of Excellence in a federated model.
In this role, you will:
Set and embed an enterprise‑wide Data & AI strategy aligned to business outcomes
Establish a scalable operating model, including architecture, governance and ways of working
Evolve modern data platforms to support analytics and AI workloads
Enable data‑as‑product with clear ownership and measurable value
Establish and steward an AI Centre of Excellence
Lead and develop senior leaders and specialist teams
You’ll shape capability that is modern, well‑governed and genuinely enabling, balancing strategy with pragmatism to lift confidence, clarity and momentum across the business.
About You
You’re a people-led, data‑focussed leader who brings clarity to complexity and creates environments where teams can do their best work.
You don’t need to be an AI purist. You’re AI‑literate, curious and confident leading experts and making thoughtful build-versus-buy decisions. You translate complex technical choices into clear outcomes and bring diverse stakeholders with you.
You likely bring:
Experience leading senior leaders in data, across engineering, platforms and data products
Deep understanding of modern data architecture and cloud‑based data/AI platforms
Experience building or operating an AI or advanced analytics centre of excellence
A track record translating data and AI into business value
Experience operating in regulated environments, with strong governance and risk instincts
A calm, clear and compelling influencing style with both technical and business leaders
