The opportunity
This is a pivotal leadership role within Customer Operations, accountable for the end‑to‑end tax and corporate actions function across a complex, fast‑growing and highly regulated financial services environment.
About the role
As Head of Tax & Corporate Actions, you’ll provide strategic leadership and oversight across all tax and corporate actions outcomes, ensuring accuracy, integrity and compliance at scale. You’ll lead high‑performing teams, partner closely with Product, Technology, Risk, Finance and Legal, and play a key role in shaping operating models, system capability and automation as the business continues to grow.
This role is responsible for outcomes across:
Corporate action event processing
Capital gains tax (CGT) integrity
Income and capital transaction integrity
Tax reporting and year‑end delivery
Managed fund rebate agreements
Regulatory and legislative compliance
What you'll be doing
Provide strategic leadership, governance and accountability for tax and corporate actions operations
Ensure accurate, timely and compliant delivery across BAU and peak periods
Lead year‑end tax processing and regulatory reporting
Drive automation, system enhancement and process improvement initiatives
Partner with senior stakeholders to influence product design, regulatory responses and change programs
Build a resilient operating model with strong risk, control and governance frameworks
Lead, develop and succession‑plan a high‑performing leadership team
What you'll bring
Extensive experience in tax and/or corporate actions within investment operations, financial services or funds management
Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation, including CGT, income tax and regulatory reporting
Deep understanding of listed securities, managed funds and complex asset structures
Proven experience leading large or complex operational teams in regulated environments
A strong track record delivering operational transformation, automation or system‑enabled change
Excellent stakeholder management, judgement and decision‑making capability
CA / CPA qualification (highly regarded)
Platform, IDPS or superannuation experience (highly regarded)
Exposure to foreign tax jurisdictions (desirable)
