The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Fund Accountant to join our SMSF Accounting team at Netwealth. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate, timely and compliant reporting for the self‑managed super funds we administer, working closely with advisers, trustees and auditors.

With the majority of SMSF assets held on the Netwealth Wrap Service, this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys technical SMSF accounting, end‑to‑end ownership of funds, and being part of a high‑performing, collaborative team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Preparing annual financial statements, tax returns and member statements for SMSFs

  • Processing and reviewing transactions including contributions, rollovers, benefit payments, expenses and investment trades

  • Monthly transaction processing, record and review contributions, rollovers, benefit payments, expenses, and investment trades to keep SMSF accounts up to date

  • Managing day‑to‑day SMSF administration to ensure accounts are accurate and up to date

  • Preparing audit workpapers, liaising with external auditors and responding to audit queries

  • Coordinating with advisers, trustees, auditors and the ATO to meet compliance and lodgement deadlines

  • Preparing BAS/IAS and PAYG summaries where required

  • Maintaining compliance documentation and checklists

  • Supporting the wider Product Accounting team as needed

About you

  • 2+ years’ experience in SMSF accounting

  • Strong working knowledge of SMSFs, the SIS Act and regulatory requirements

  • CA or CPA qualified (or working towards)

  • Experience using SMSF software — Class experience highly regarded

  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage work end to end

  • Confident working autonomously while collaborating effectively with others

  • Strong time management and stakeholder communication skills

  • Comfortable supporting advisers and clients with SMSF compliance obligations
