The Role
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a key contributor to Nium’s revenue engine, responsible for driving qualified pipeline through strategic inbound lead qualification and targeted outbound prospecting. Reporting to the Director, Head of BDRs, this individual brings demonstrated sales development experience and the ability to engage sophisticated buyers across complex, cross-border payment use cases.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong track record of exceeding pipeline targets, deep familiarity with modern sales methodologies, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-moving, international environment. Responsibilities
Own and execute a structured outbound prospecting strategy targeting SME, mid-market, and enterprise accounts across key verticals including banking, fintech, travel, and e-commerce
Identify, research, and engage decision-makers and economic buyers through multi-channel outreach including cold calling, personalized email sequences, and LinkedIn
Develop and refine account-based outreach strategies in partnership with Account Executives and Marketing
Consistently meet and exceed monthly and quarterly pipeline creation quotas
Qualify and prioritize inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns, content, events, and digital channels with speed and rigor
Conduct thorough discovery to assess prospect fit, urgency, and buying intent before advancing opportunities
Ensure seamless and timely handoff of qualified opportunities to Account Executives with full context and documentation
Apply proven qualification methodologies (e.g., MEDDICC, BANT, SPIN) to assess and advance opportunities effectively
Articulate Nium’s value proposition across cross-border payments, FX, card issuance, and collections to a range of buyer personas
Conduct compelling introductory calls and demos that create urgency and progress deals through the funnel
Manage a high volume of concurrent prospecting activities with strong organizational discipline
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all activities, accounts, contacts, and pipeline in Salesforce CRM
Track and report on personal KPIs including outreach volume, conversion rates, pipeline value, and quota attainment
Leverage sales engagement tools and automation to maximize productivity and outreach quality
Contribute to the refinement of team playbooks, messaging frameworks, and cadence strategies
Partner with Marketing to provide ongoing feedback on lead quality, ICP alignment, and campaign effectiveness
Collaborate closely with Account Executives to align on target accounts, messaging, and handoff standards
Share prospect and market intelligence to support go-to-market strategy and product positioning

Requirements
1-3 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or inside sales role, with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding quota
Experience in fintech, payments, SaaS, or financial services strongly preferred
Strong understanding of outbound prospecting strategies, account-based selling, and qualification methodologies
Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and economic buyers with credibility and confidence
Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and sales engagement platforms (e.g., Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to tailor messaging to diverse audiences and geographies
Highly organized with the ability to manage a large number of active prospects simultaneously
Analytically minded with the ability to track personal performance metrics and self-correct
Familiarity with cross-border payments, FX, treasury, or related financial products is a plus
Experience selling into international markets is advantageous
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience preferred
