The Role

As a key member of our Trading Operations team at Pepperstone, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our business users and clients. We highly value system uptime and reliability, so your work in diligently monitoring client trading platforms and maintaining our end-to-end trading infrastructure is absolutely essential. You will have the important responsibility of overseeing the configuration, maintenance, and seamless operation of our order management systems, as well as our internal trading infrastructure, which includes aggregation and liquidity management systems.

This role requires a solid understanding of the various trading systems we provide to our clients, coupled with a deep understanding of Pepperstone's business model. Moreover, you'll need to showcase exceptional skills in effectively and securely managing trading infrastructure.

As our Trading Operations Engineer, your key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Be responsible for managing and administering our client trading platforms, such as MT4, MT5, cTrader, and our in-house Pepperstone trading platform.
• Overseeing the company's internal dealing infrastructure, including execution, pricing, and hedging engines, liquidity aggregators, and our proprietary trading infrastructure to ensure smooth and efficient trading operations.
• Closely monitoring all essential dealing systems, including trading systems, proxy servers, Windows servers, aggregators, pricing engines, and third-party plugins. Take proactive measures to detect and address issues promptly, ensuring system stability.
• Regularly performing health and performance checks on all trading platforms and systems to maintain optimal efficiency and reliability.
• Conducting regular audits of trading platform systems and software to identify and rectify any vulnerabilities or discrepancies.
• Addressing operations tickets and requests promptly, considering the business sensitivity and urgency of each request.
• Managing the process of corporate actions, swaps, and other daily operational tasks as required. Contribute to the smooth functioning of trading operations.
• Investigating trade-related issues comprehensively, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or problems.
• Monitoroing pricing and effectively resolve pricing issues to prevent disruptions in client trading activities.
• Handling escalations and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and service providers. Ensure efficient communication and resolution of issues.
• Providing support for regulatory reporting initiatives, such as transaction reporting, best execution, and market abuse surveillance.

About you

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within the online trading industry is a must.
• Demonstrated expertise in aggregation and liquidity management technology.
• Experience with oneZero Hub or other leading liquidity aggregation and execution engines is a significant advantage.
• Prior experience in trading operations or a dealing role, particularly with MetaTrader 4/5, is a plus.
• Familiarity with cTrader and Devexperts is also advantageous.
• Proficiency in investigating issues using logs and creating simple database queries using SQL.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and a keen desire for continuous self-learning are essential traits.
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities, exceptional analytical skills, and effective time management are crucial.
• Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English is necessary.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and different shifts, is a must.

Nice to have

• Experience in Database Administration or SQL-based reporting is highly valued.
• Knowledge of the FIX protocol is a definite bonus.
