The role

Join us as Legal Counsel on a 12-month, fixed term, maternity leave cover role where you’ll play a key role in supporting our growth across Australia and New Zealand. • Advise on ad-hoc legal matters as they arise.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update the Head of Operational Risk, Legal and Compliance.
  • Identify and manage legal risks across the business.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (vendor, technology, partnerships, NDAs).
  • Manage customer contracts across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Review and draft sales and marketing materials.
  • Support legal aspects of funding transactions, including due diligence and document preparation.
  • Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
  • Provide administrative support for company secretarial services, including managing papers and attending ARC meetings.
  • Offer ad hoc assistance for Board meetings.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel.
  • Develop and implement legal policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver legal training as needed.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualifications in law and an Australian-qualified lawyer with a current practising certificate.
  • 3–5 years PQE gained at a recognised Australian law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Strong understanding of contract and corporate law.
  • Experience in the financial legal and regulatory environment is preferred.
  • Exposure to technology vendor contracts is an advantage.
  • High attention to detail when reviewing contracts, with a solid grasp of commercial context.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator with the maturity to engage with senior executives and Board members.

Don't let a confidence gap get in the way of submitting your application.
