About the role

The Legal team sits at the heart of Revolut and it's a very important part of the business. This lovely bunch supports all other Revolut teams, helping us achieve our goals each and every day.

We’re looking for a Junior Complaints Legal Counsel to manage incoming customer complaints across external dispute resolution platforms and assist with early-stage or less complex litigation. You’ll also support the drafting of pre-action letters and responses to claims, providing legal advice to internal stakeholders on a day-to-day basis.

The ideal candidate brings legal expertise and sound analytical skills to assess case outcomes and identify areas of legal risk across Revolut’s operations.

The goal? To improve the quality of our services and make sure that we deliver WOW at all times.

Up for the challenge? Let’s get in touch.

What you'll be doing

  • Running internal fact-finding investigations
  • Handling external dispute resolution complaints in line with local laws and regulations
  • Representing Revolut before external dispute resolution forums
  • Assisting with early-stage or less complex litigation, including pre-action letters and case reviews
  • Assisting the Legal Disputes & Complaints Team and Branch Legal Counsel with ad hoc work and advice.
  • Supporting Branch Legal Counsel with less complex regulatory or commercial matters
  • Identifying, analysing, and resolving legal and operational issues
  • Supporting the implementation of process improvements across teams and functions
  • Analysing case outcomes to identify Revolut’s weak points in order to remediate them.
  • Improving and maintaining internal legal procedures
  • Promoting practices that prioritise fair treatment of customers
  • Taking ownership of legal issues and driving resolution across functions
  • Cooperating closely with other departments during the case investigation.

What you'll need

  • Law Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Romania
  • Background in private practice or in-house legal roles within financial services
  • Experience in litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and regulatory matters
  • Fluency in English and Romanian, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and identify root causes
  • Resourcefulness in identifying and sourcing relevant legal information
  • Strategic thinking in selecting and applying appropriate legal remedies
  • Problem-solving skills to efficiently resolve complex legal cases
  • Great attention to detail and common sense
  • Ability to excel both independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrable ability to work in fast-paced environments and make sound judgements under tight deadlines
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and learning within a legal function

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in an additional European language, with ability to apply brand tone and voice

Building a global financial super app isn’t enough. Our Revoluters are a priority, and that’s why in 2021 we launched our inaugural D&I Framework, designed to help us thrive and grow everyday. We're not just doing this because it's the right thing to do. We’re doing it because we know that seeking out diverse talent and creating an inclusive workplace is the way to create exceptional, innovative products and services for our customers. That’s why we encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences to join this multicultural, hard-working team.
