About the team

The Connect team at Stripe focuses on building and maintaining the infrastructure and tools that enable businesses to integrate and manage payments on their platforms. This includes providing solutions for marketplaces, platforms, and service providers to handle complex payment flows, such as payouts to third-party sellers or service providers. The team is responsible for designing systems that support a wide range of business models and compliance requirements across various countries. They work on ensuring a seamless and secure experience for users, managing APIs that facilitate the movement of funds, and offering features like onboarding, verification, and reporting for platforms using Stripe Connect.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will work with the Connect Risk and Compliance pillar, which exists to enable Connect platforms to seamlessly manage the risk and compliance obligations of their financial business on Stripe. This pillar is a critical piece of the puzzle for upleveling Stripe’s guardianship of the Internet’s financial ecosystem, and is also driven to distill all of the necessary complexity into an accessible product for our users.

We are looking for a program manager who can help bring operational leverage to the team. This person would be responsible for our Platform Happiness Program, which seeks to understand and drive down sources of unhappiness for platforms, as well as other programs across the Connect Risk and Compliance space. Responsibilities will include deep diving into platforms to understand their pain points, identifying delightful product solutions to address these challenges, and running user facing programs related to risk and compliance topics. This person will partner not only with technical teams but also GTM and operations partners to work with platforms on risk and compliance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand platform needs and be the voice of the platform and the subject matter expert on how we can improve the Risk and Compliance experience for platforms.
  • Work with user facing teams and directly with platforms to help them work through risk and compliance issues or opportunities.
  • Drive functional and technical delivery of key team and org-wide programs/initiatives.
  • Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and other cross functional partners to define, scope, and drive large programs to conclusion.
  • Develop, implement, and iterate on program management techniques, frameworks, and KPIs to achieve goals with well defined success criteria.
  • Make substantial improvements to how the teams you work with communicate and operate to significantly increase the productivity and efficiency of the teams.
  • Define and produce high quality written proposals, communications and documentation.
  • Create widely circulated plans, driving consistency, clarity and building alignment across teams.
  • Help influence peers / leaders and build consensus while dealing with ambiguity.

Who you are

Minimum requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in program/project management within technical domains.
  • Stellar organizational and operational skills.
  • Users-first and customer-focused mindset, as well as experience working directly with customers both large and small.
  • Experience aligning a broad set of stakeholders via strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills; you digest complex information and make recommendations.
  • You have a track record of providing program management.
  • You have very strong written and verbal communication skills, building strong relationships with stakeholders, teams and senior leaders around the organization.
  • You can drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions and bring a wealth of experience, opinions, proposals and best practices.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working with risk and compliance products is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Experience with fintech products is a plus, but not a requirement.
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $131,200 - $196,800. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
