IT, Product
Austin, TX, USA

Company Description

Wise is one of the fastest growing companies in Austin and we’re on a mission: to make money without borders the new normal. We’ve got over 15 million customers across the globe and we’re growing. Fast.

Current banking systems don't let us send, spend or receive money across borders easily. Or quickly. Or cheaply.

So, we’re building a new one. And, we need a talented Senior Analyst to join our mission.

More about our mission and what we offer.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Analyst to act as a critical bridge between our Product Analytics and Fincrime Analytics teams. As a key member of the NorthAm Squad, you'll play a critical role in navigating the evolving regulatory landscape and ensuring robust compliance for our US and Canada business as we expand into new markets.

Team Mission

Truly delivering on our promise of Money Without Borders means we need to build the best local setups within each of the markets we serve, while ensuring we appropriately manage the risks associated with business operations. You will join a team of analysts who will develop and own the reporting layer for compliance activities to give assurance to the Board and our regulators that we are effectively managing the risks we face.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Be part of a positive change in the world. Wise is fixing a broken financial system, and putting people and businesses in control of their money.
  • Collaborate globally, spending a portion of your onboarding in the UK and traveling there quarterly to connect with our global product, engineering, and compliance experts.
  • Help build a world-class compliance and internal audit analytics team that fosters high trust with our customers and external partners.
  • Learn from a global network of professionals. We have a large, diverse team of analysts, data scientists, compliance and internal audit partners that you will work with and learn from.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform controls assurance by ensuring controls are correctly configured and targeted at the right customer populations, preventing gaps that could threaten our license and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze and optimize controls efficiency. You'll track and monitor key flow metrics (e.g., acceptance rates, document verification, conversion funnels) to ensure controls are effectively reducing risk while balancing growth and a smooth customer experience.
  • Enable risk monitoring during product launches, evaluating risk factors and data needs as we expand into new markets and ensuring data is accessible to our product compliance team.
  • Scale our data infrastructure around risk to enable teams to break down risk metrics at different levels (entity, product, partner). You'll work closely with fincrime analytics to leverage their assets, localize them, and highlight trends.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and product compliance to influence decisions with data around controls and risk in the North America region.

Qualifications

A bit about you:

  • You are able to spend a portion of your onboarding in the UK and travel there quarterly to collaborate with global teams. This is a must-have for the role.
  • You have 3+ years of experience analyzing data in a professional setting, ideally within a financial services, fintech, or regulatory environment. Having at least 1 year working with product teams is a strong plus.
  • You have strong knowledge of SQL and know how to write efficient queries to work with large, complex datasets.
  • You are familiar with BI tools like Looker or Superset and have experience building reports and dashboards to distribute actionable insights.
  • You have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate data into compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical partners.
  • You're proactive with a can-do attitude, able to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of your work.
  • You have a genuine passion for Wise's mission and building world-class financial products.

Bonus Points:

  • You have experience in the fincrime domain, balancing risk and customer experience.
  • You have experience with user-facing products and data.
  • You have experience with modern data stack tools like dbt, Airflow, or GitHub.
  • You understand the purpose of robust risk, compliance and internal audit functions in financial institutions.

Additional Information

What We Offer:

  • RSU's in a rapidly growing company
  • An annual self-development budget
  • Medical, dental, & vision insurance – including HSA and FSA options
  • Company-paid: Life Insurance, Short & Long-Term Disability, and an EAP program
  • Flexible working model – a mix of working from home and from the office
  • Relocation expenses covered
  • 25 days PTO, 15 sick days, 11 holidays, 5 compassionate leave days, 3 paid “Me” days and a paid volunteer day, annually. Yes, that’s 60 days!
  • A paid 6-week sabbatical leave after four years
  • 18-weeks of paid parental leave, after a year with us
  • 401k with up to a 4% employer match
  • 2025 Austin BuiltIn Best Award winner for Best Places to Work and Best Large Places to Work

For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.

We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
