About the Job
A rare opportunity to join a small and established Product Design team, playing a pivotal role across both our internal and external products to ensure stunning experiences for our customers. This is a hands-on role where you will be working on the end-to-end experience, owning specific Wisr products, collaborating cross-functionally and driving customer and business impact.
Things move pretty quickly at Wisr, so organisation is key and you will be comfortable scoping design briefs and setting expectations around milestones and what your squad and stakeholders can expect and when.
This role is a 9-12 month fixed term parental leave contract. Ideally, you are available to start from the end of September 2024.
What You’ll Do
• Lead and own the delivery of key product initiatives.
• Lead and conduct qualitative and quantitative research customer research (e.g user testing, interviews, contextual enquiries, surveys, guerilla testing)
• Use research insights to develop journey maps, process flows, personas and product improvements and recommendations.
• Create end-to-end customer experiences that are desired by our customers, feasible and deliver business value.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Engineers and other key business stakeholders, ensuring regular project updates.
• Support the implementation and creation of product design strategies to ensure strategic alignment across the business.
• Act as a subject matter expert to direct team members as well as cross-functional teams.
• Support the Head of Design and step into 2IC role when required
About you
As a Lead Product Designer, you will be responsible for end-to-end UI/UX activities within your squad. You will own and deliver across the entire design process, including both user research, product discovery, and visual design, with a particular emphasis on wireframing. You'll also have/be:
• 6 + years minimum of professional hands-on experience within product design
• Self-starter with a focus on human-centred design thinking
• Demonstrated expertise owning end-to-end UX, leading product discovery and delivery specifically for applications and/or web applications
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate the value of design choices
• Advanced skills in Figma (or similar) and a willingness to try new tools
