As a Senior Accountant in our Finance team, you will be responsible for the accounting and finance for various Trusts, debt, receivables and associated revenue and expenses. You will also assist with results and audit processes and various process and system improvement initiatives.
In this role, you will be AU focused and contributing to the monthly trust models, cash distributions, daily cash transfers. Along with assisting the day to day finance operational tasks, you will also have the opportunity to work with the rest of the finance team in identifying and implementing process improvements and internal controls.
Interesting problems you’ll get to solve
- Support reporting processes, month end processes and deliver timely and accurate information to both internal and external Stakeholders. Drive Trust month-end close process
- Ensure the accuracy of the trust balance sheet and BAS return
- Prepare monthly loan receivables journals and trust accounting to accurately reflect Trust models, drawdowns, note repayments and cost of funds
- Assist with the group audit process of the Group and local statutory audits.
- Assist the wider finance team, where applicable
- Assist with the completion of memos for accounting issues, business issues and items for Board and Committee considerations, if required.
- Support the business with new initiatives in a finance capacity
- Tasks may include:
- Conduct Monthly Trust P&L review
- Perform cash flow analysis of trust accounts
- Assist with loan sale accounting
- Review daily cash sweeps and disbursements
- Loan book reconciliations
- Contribute to the evolution & continuous improvement of Zip’s finance processes & procedures
- Preparation of the subsidiary Financial Statements, including completion of working papers.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Qualified CPA/CA or very close to finalisation
- Min 3-5 years experience in a similar role
- Experience with intercompany & preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Solid grasp of accounting standards & principles
- Intermediate to Advanced level Excel skills
- Experience with Trust Accounting
- BAS experience
- Chartered accounting background
- Experience with Trust or Financial Models
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with and influence various stakeholders
- Strong time management, planning and organisation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Curious – an ability to question, investigate and problem solve
